Coffee pouches include a one-way degassing valve that lets carbon dioxide escape from freshly roasted beans without letting outside air back in, a detail that matters because sealing roasted coffee without one risks the bag bursting or the beans losing freshness fast. Foil-lined film blocks light and oxygen from degrading the beans further during shelf life. Resealable strips are standard for bags meant to be opened and closed repeatedly.
